The 2000 Stanley Cup matchup is renewed as the New Jersey Devils travel to take on the Dallas Stars. Of course, the Devils won that match up but it was the Stars who won the first game of this season’s series. Dallas won it handily too winning in Newark 4-1 back in December. The Stars are still leading the Central division but Winnipeg is right on their heels just two points behind. Dallas will look to avoid losing three games in a row tonight. Both teams are coming off 3-2 overtime endings in their previous games. The Stars came out on the wrong side of their game against the Carolina Hurricanes. These two first-place teams fought a very tough game that started out very intense. Carolina scored the first goal but Dallas came back firing getting the next two.

New Jersey is coming off a 6-4 loss to Nashville. Before that, the Devils were coming off four straight games that have made it past regulation. The fatigue may have caught up to them as the Devils allowed three goals in the third period and letting up four of the next five goals after leading 3-1 in the second period.
