Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are all lining up big-money deals as the transfer window steps up another gear with a return to pre-season now only days away. Things will likely ramp up with the new campaign in sight once again.
All three London clubs are battling for the signing of Leeds United star Raphinha, with Todd Boehly now personally overseeing a deal to potentially bring the Brazilian to Stamford Bridge alongside Raheem Sterling. Man City teammate Gabriel Jesus, meanwhile, is another to have been linked with all three, although Arsenal’s talks with the striker are said to be progressing.
Tottenham have so far been one of the busiest clubs in the window, bringing three players to Antonio Conte’s revolution and reports claim the manager wants a new forward signed before the end of next week with Steven Bergwijn heading to Ajax and Harry Winks in talks with Everton.
Spurs focus on Richarlison and Raphinha
Tottenham have ended their interest in Gabriel Jesus, leaving Arsenal to wrap up a deal for their key attacking transfer target, writes Giuseppe Muro.
Spurs are keen to bolster their forward line this summer and have firmed up their interest in Raphinha and Richarlison over a move for Jesus.
Antonio Conte wants to strengthen his already brilliant front three of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski and Tottenham had considered a move for Jesus.
But Spurs have turned their attentions to Jesus’s Brazil team-mates Richarlison and Raphinha.
Done deal! Nkunku signs new contract
As we reported earlier, Christopher Nkunku has extended his RB Leipzig contract.
He is now tied down until 2026. He said: “I’m happy to continue wearing the RB Leipzig shirt. After the great success in the DFB Cup, it was clear: my path doesn’t end here – we want more!
“I was really impressed by how the club took care of me. So a big thank you to all those responsible for the trust. RB Leipzig has made a name for itself internationally in recent years and has repeatedly confirmed that we can play for titles. In the future we want to build on this and go one step further.”
De Jong still unconvinced by United
Manchester United are yet to convince Frenkie de Jong to leave Barcelona, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Barca are ready to sell to raise funds but the player remains unsure despite the prospect of a reunion with his former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.
Spurs end Jesus interest
More on the forward who Tottenham want to sign next week.
Standard Sport can confirm that Gabriel Jesus is no longer a target for Spurs – seemingly leaving Arsenal a free run at the player – but Richarlison and Raphinha are.
More on that to come shortly.
Chelsea and Spurs move on from Saint-Maximin
Chelsea and Tottenham are not prepared to pay Newcastle’s asking price for Allan Saint-Maximin.
Both clubs are interested in the forward, but the Daily Mail have been put off by the £40m fee.
Saint-Maximin is ready to move on from St James Park, but it is unlikely to be this summer.
Pepes wants to leave Arsenal
Nicolas Pepe wants to leave Arsenal this summer, according to football.london.
The winger has failed to live up to his £72million price tag, scoring just once in 20 league appearances last season and falling down the pecking order.
Pepe now wants a new challenge to start afresh should the Gunners receive an acceptable offer.
Nkunku staying put
Talking of Christopher Nkunku, the forward is expected to stay at RB Leipzig this summer.
German outlet Kicker reports that Nkunku’s contract will be extended by a year until 2025 but will include a release worth €60m (£51.7m) which will be active from next summer.
Nkunku scored 35 goals and added 22 assists in 52 games last season, alerting Chelsea and Manchester United.
Lewandowski is ‘dream’ Chelsea signing
Robert Lewandowski is Chelsea’s dream summer signing, according to The Guardian.
Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele are attainable targets, the report says, while Richarlison and Christopher Nkunku are also on Thomas Tuchel’s shortlist.
But it is Lewandowski who would be the perfect signing. The striker favours Barcelona and is being tracked by Paris Saint-Germain.
Pogba meeting today to seal Juve deal
Paul Pogba’s agents will meet Juventus again today to finalise the player’s free transfer back to the club.
The midfielder is expected to earn around £7million a season, before bonuses, and will undergo a medical next week.
Palace beat United to Ebiowei
Young English talent Malcolm Ebiowei is heading to Crystal Palace, according to various reports.
Manchester United were keen on the 18-year-old winger but he is heading to Selhurst Park on a free.
Ebiowei is set to sign a five-year deal.
