Past footage with Rafael Nadal and his sister Maribel getting through an airport with fans all around them emerged on Twitter because one of the fans almost got hit by a car as he focused his attention on greeting Rafa.
Lots of footage to corroborate this excerpt about Rafa’s star power & the one I immediately remembered is this video of so many men sprinting through the airport for selfies.
One guy runs across the street & almost gets hit. Rafa & Maribel hugging at the end like what a life 😮💨😅 https://t.co/WTS3o4DVbV pic.twitter.com/ZitXCnhfXd — TroubleFault (@troublefault) September 28, 2022
More recently, Roger Federer took a picture with Rafael Nadal’s father and sister Maria Isabel Nadal after his retirement match at Laver Cup.
Nadal’s sister posted the picture on her Instagram account.
Maria Isabel was near Rafael Nadal when the Spaniard won at Roland Garros in 2022.
At Wimbledon, Nadal’s father and sister irritated Rafa for telling him to retire. “My sister and father were telling me to retire. For me, it’s tough to quit in the middle of a match, even though I was thinking about that for a long time.
I have done that a couple of times in my career, but I hate doing that. That’s why I kept fighting, wanting to finish the match regardless of the result,” Rafael Nadal said. Read more: Rafael Nadal: ‘My sister and father told me to retire, but I hate that’
