The top-ranked player in the 2022 high school recruiting class and a candidate to likely reclassify to the 2021 class has set his decision date.
Consensus top-five recruit Jalen Duren has announced he will make a decision on his basketball future on Friday, August 6th.
Back in June, Duren cut his list of options down to five with attending college at Kentucky, Miami and Memphis on the table as well as the NBA G-League and Australian National Basketball League.
Recent indications are that Duren is likely to go the college route and reclassify to the class of 2021 with NIL legislation passing. Memphis and Miami have picked up the most buzz recently, as Kentucky appears unlikely to be the choice Friday.
There are varying predictions, but Penny Hardaway and Memphis hold all three Rivals FutureCast projections, and no 247 Crystal Ball predictions have been made.
Duren had made it clear to those he has talked to that he does not yet know what he intends to do, but his process may be all but wrapped up with a decision date set.
