Floyd Mayweather Jr. Nears Finish Line With The Money Team Racing’s NASCAR Debut At Daytona 500

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is racing closer toward the finish line looking to capture a checkered flag with a new business venture.

The fighter of the decade is nearing a deal to debut the NASCAR team billed as The Money Team Racing at the Daytona 500 on Feb. 20, according to a report Thursday from the Sports Business Journal.

Mayweather – widely known for his expensive fleet of luxurious cars – has long been looking to enter car racing dating back to 2019 when he licensed his TMT brand to car racing industry executive Willy Auchmoody, who was tasked to land sponsorships.

The SBJ reports Mayweather and company are now back on track after they secured a Next Gen car, sponsor and a driver in 23-year-old American Kaz Grala for the season-opening NASCAR Cup Series race, which is set to air on FOX.

Grala will reportedly helm the wheel of the No. 50 car, an homage to Mayweather’s perfect 50 win career.

The Money Team Racing launched a Twitter page (@tmtracing50) in 2019, and it has published only one promotional tweet ever since on March 21, 2020.

With the move, Mayweather becomes the latest celebrity owner to enter the NASCAR scene joining the likes of basketball icon Michael Jordan and pop star Pitbull.
