Opening day for the Los Angeles Angels and Anthony Rendon didn’t go quite as expected. The Angels lost to the Oakland A’s 2-1 and Rendon went 0-3 with a walk and two strikeouts. Things went much worse from there. After the game, Rendon went over to an A’s fan who’d apparently been heckling the star third baseman. Rendon grabbed him by the shirt, accused the fan of calling him a “b****,” and then took a swing at the fan, which missed. The offseason news cycle has been full of the potential for a few quarterbacks changing teams, with the most intriguing so far not being about ayahuasca and a darkness retreat. That’s right, I’m talking about the wide receiver prospect turned NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. After wrapping up an electric 2019 season where he passed for over 3,200 yards and rushed for over 1,200, Jackson’s numbers have settled a bit thanks in part to injuries that have caused him to miss time and diminishing offensive weapons in Baltimore. Jackson’s diminished returns along with playing out his rookie contract have made for…

Nick Nurse‘s future in Toronto has been a subject of speculation as of late, with multiple reports this week suggesting there has been some league-wide chatter about Nurse’s status. Asked on Friday about those rumors, the Raptors head coach could have poured cold water on them, but his response only added more fuel, writes Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca. “I think when this season gets done, we’ll evaluate everything,” Nurse told reporters. “Even personally, I’m going to take a few weeks to see where I’m at, where my head’s at, and just see how the relationship with the organization is and…

Add Tiger Woods and Bryson DeChambeau to the list of torn relationships caused by tension between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. DeChambeau told Golfweek ahead of the LIV Orlando event this weekend that Woods has cut him off since his defection to the Saudi-backed golf league in June 2022. At first, DeChambeau didn’t mention Woods by name — only suggesting that someone had cut him off, and joking to the outlet that “I’m sure you can guess who” — before addressing his relationship with the 47-year-old, 15-time major champion. “Yeah, I’m not going to throw anyone under the bus,”…

The wide receiver class in the 2023 NFL Draft is certainly an interesting one. It might not have a huge depth of talent with the top-end blue chip receivers to which we’ve become accustomed. However, it has an impressive breadth of talent with a lot of draftable wide receivers with a broad range of body types and skill sets. Rudy Gobert was fined $25,000 and Chris Finch was fined $15,000 after each criticized officials following the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 107-100 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The Suns had a 27-12 advantage in free throw attempts in the game. Finch said that Monty Williams’ previous criticism of officials “works, because tonight they went to the line 27 times and we went to the line 12 times” after the game. Gobert then claimed that officials were “trying to help them [Phoenix] win” the game. “I think you want to see KD [Kevin Durant] in the playoffs, Steph [Stephen Curry] in…
