A marathon Sunday at the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will leak into the work week as roughly half the final round is still to be completed for the last threesome. Facing wind and rain delays throughout the tournament, it is Justin Rose who will enter the final day of the event in possession of the solo lead at 15 under.
Beginning the final round with the outright lead, Rose stumbled out the gates with an opening bogey and immediately relinquished his edge. A bounce-back birdie ensued at the accessible par-5 2nd before playing the par-5 6th and the par-3 7th in a combined five strokes to push ahead.
Having just made the turn at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Rose will be rejoined by Peter Malnati at 13 under when play resumes at 11 a.m. ET. One of the Englishman’s closest pursuers, Malnati will attempt to dismantle the former world No. 1 on the difficult inward nine.
Playing over par thus far in the final round, the groups yet to see the latter holes will receive a reprieve from the conditions as warmer temperatures and relatively tame winds are expected Monday morning. This is welcomed news for Rose as he attempts to claim his 11th title on the PGA Tour and first in four years.
The leader
1. Justin Rose (-15)
With an eagle on the par-5 6th, Rose has now carded two eagles and a hole-in-one on the week. Propelling him to the top of the leaderboard, he will look for additional par breakers in order to fend off the likes of Brendon Todd, Denny McCarthy and his playing competitor Malnati. He will be faced with a wedge opportunity as his first shot on Monday while in the middle of the fairway on the par-4 10th when play resumes.

T5. Beau Hossler, Keith Mitchell, Brandon Wu, Taylor Pendrith (-12)
McCarthy turned in 7-under 29 — just one stroke off the Pebble Beach record — and had it to 8 under with a birdie on No. 11. Appearing to be the player out in front to post a score for the leaders to look at, a pair of untimely bogeys on his back nine halted his momentum. Bouncing back with a birdie on the par-4 15th, McCarthy may need to run the table Monday morning on his final two holes if he is to steal this title.
Keith kills it on air
Similar to Max Homa at the Farmers Insurance Open, Keith Mitchell was mic’d up during his round at Pebble Beach. Taking viewers through his third hole, the Georgia Bulldog was able to discuss his thoughts off the tee, how to deal with varying winds and his approach to different golf shots. It was once again a hit with the masses on the internet — which is hard to do with the golf community.

These six players are the only ones with a chance to win as Pendrith has set the clubhouse lead at 12 under. Extremely unlikely to be enough, I will take a stab with Todd who is two strokes behind Rose and will face an 8-foot birdie opportunity on the par-4 13th to get within one. Todd has been terrific on approach so far this season, and given his ability to get hot on the greens, should give Rose a real run for his money over the final stretch.
